Bio: Dr. Prieto joined Mason in the fall of 2023. His research interests focus on aging, substance use, and sexual health among older adults. He is passionate about advancing the discussions concerning substance use, health disparities, and sexual health among older populations. Prieto has published in several health-related journals. He earned his B.S. in Sociology/Criminal Justice at Central Michigan University, M.S.W. at the University of Michigan, and his Ph.D. at Michigan State University.

Hailey Sandefur, MSc
Short bio
Hailey Sandefur is currently an MSW student at George Mason University, in her third and final year. Hailey previously received a MSc in Clinical Psychology and Mental Health from London South Bank University, and studied both Psychology and Criminology, Law, and Society as an undergraduate at GMU. She has experience working with and conducting research on individuals experiencing mental health crises, including individuals who are incarcerated, military veterans, and individuals in the LGBTQ+ community. Her passion lies in community mental health, and she hopes to pursue this as a career post-graduation. In her free time, she likes going to the movies, reading mysteries, and training for her next race. Hailey joined the research lab in 2023.

Naomi M. Jones
Short bio
Naomi MatÃas Jones is currently a BS Psychology student at George Mason University, in her fourth and final year. Naomi previously earned an AS degree in Psychology from Northern Virginia Community College, and is currently pursuing a concentration in Clinical Psychology. She has experience supporting individuals who have experienced mental health crises from diverse backgrounds, particularly individuals who have engaged in depressive thoughts and self-injury. She is passionate about researching/treating neurodevelopmental disorders, and aims to earn a doctorate in clinical psychology for this purpose. In her free time, she enjoys daydreaming to her favorite songs, drawing, and creating stories. Naomi joined the research lab in 2025.
